Senior Spotlight- Alma Ayala

Alma Ayala is the daughter of Benito Ayala and Placida Alvarado. She has 9 siblings: Celena, Rocio, Marisol, Ana, Jose, Pedro, Luis, Octavio and Justino. Her favorite family activity is going hiking or canoeing. Alma admires her dad the most. She says, “He is who I look up to and who has always been there for me.” If Alma had one wish it would be able to travel anywhere and whenever.

Alma’s most valued possession is her tablet; it helps her with school. In her free time, she likes to hang out with friends, stay home and play video games. If Alma could travel to one place in the entire world, she would travel to Cancun, because it seems fun and a good place to relax. In 10 years, she sees herself working as an ultrasound technician in California or Atlanta, Georgia. Three things that Alma wants to accomplish in her lifetime are to have a successful career, make a positive impact on others, and explore the world.

Alma has been involved in Track for 1 year and she took art for 3 years. The most valued lesson that Alma has learned from a teacher or coach is that if you try there is a possibility to do anything. Mrs. Himmerich has been one of her favorite teachers throughout school. Anatomy is Alma’s favorite class. She enjoyed learning about the body and how the body functions. Her favorite memory is hanging out with her friends one more year before graduating.

If Alma could do one thing differently in her high school career, she said she would try harder her freshman year so she wouldn't fall behind. After she graduates, she will miss walking out of Anatomy class with s'mores every Friday. Her advice to underclassmen is focus and turn everything in on the day it is due.

Alma will be majoring in Sonography to become an ultrasound technician.
