Senior Spotlight-Paisley Rentschler

Paisley Rentschler is the daughter of Brook and Lacey Rentschler. She has one brother Holdyn. Her favorite family activities are camping at Lake Poinsett during the summer, watching sprint car races and spending time at Huset’s Speedway. She admires her mom, because she is a very hard worker, she is always there when Paisley needs her most, and she always attends her sporting events. When Paisley was younger, she wanted to be a veterinarian. Her biggest pet peeve is when people chew with their mouth open. One thing she can't live without is food and her phone. Paisley's favorite food is chicken alfredo or seafood, and her least favorite food is mushrooms and onions. If she had one wish it would be to not have to make hard choices. The one accomplishment Paisley is proud of is coming out of her shell and being more involved. The three words that she uses to describe herself are genuine, dedicated, and sassy.

Paisley has been in volleyball and basketball for four years and softball and FCA for 2 years. The most creative excuse she has used to get out of a homework assignment was that she left her assignment at home, when it was really in her backpack. Paisley's favorite extracurricular activity was softball, because it is her favorite sport and her teammates were fun to be around. The most valuable lesson she has learned from a coach or teacher was to never give up or quit, give it your all. Her favorite memory in school was in kindergarten when they got to watch the magic school bus and take a nap. Her favorite teacher throughout PK-12th grade was Mrs. Hemmer, because she was a fun teacher and let them take naps. Paisley's favorite memory from her senior year was homecoming week. Her favorite class was A&P, because she learned a lot and she feels it was a fun class to be in.

Paisley's most challenging task as a senior was trying to keep up with schoolwork, sports, dual credits, scholarships, and working. She works at Blue Jays in Egan, she has worked there for about two years, she works in the C-Store and washes the dishes for the kitchen, she also works at the Flandreau Aquatic Center. One thing she will miss the most after graduating is being around and interacting with her classmates, she will also miss sports. If she could do anything different in her high school career, she would have been more outgoing and involved in more. Advice Paisley would give to underclassmen is to listen to your teachers and get your work in on time, also try to be involved.

Paisley plans to attend Southeast Tech in the fall for the Dental Program.
