Dawson Miles is the son of Tim Miles and Traci Miles. He has four siblings: Austin, Hunter, Weston, and Shayla. His favorite family activity is hunting and fishing together. He admires how loving and caring his family is. His most valued possession is his pickup because he wouldn’t be able to do most stuff without it. Someone that Dawson admires the most is his friend Auston because he’s a funny guy. The three words that Dawson uses to describe himself are stud, smart, and dime.
If he could travel to one place in the entire world he would go to Alaska, because it seems like fun. In his free time, Dawson likes to hunt, fish, and trap during the winter and during the spring he likes to call coon and coyotes. During the summer Dawson usually works for his mom at the farm and sells furs/tails for the predator bounty. Something many people don’t know about him is that he snares hundreds of acres for coyotes during the winter. In 10 years, he sees himself working on a farm and selling furs. Three things that Dawson wants to accomplish in his lifetime are banded snow goose, color phase coyote, and a 30” walleye.
Dawson has been involved in FFA for four years. His favorite teacher is Mr. Deutsch because they have a lot in common. The most valuable lesson he has learned from his teachers is to always try your best. Dawson’s favorite class is Ag. He enjoyed going outside and doing lots of different projects during class. When asked what his most creative excuse for getting out of an assignment was, he says, “I don’t make excuses.” One of his favorite school memories was, “When Auston decided to chase after Jesse and clipped a chair and slowly fell over.” His favorite senior memory was when they were painting the playground basketball hoops and Auston accidentally spilled the white paint on the blacktop. Dawson says that he then mixed paint thinner and water in a five-gallon bucket and left a trail from the shop to the playground before pouring it over his paint mess on the playground. Auston is just a fun guy to be around!
The most challenging task as a senior has been figuring out what to do after school. After he graduates, he is going to miss all the people that he may never see again. If Dawson could do one thing differently in his high school career, he would have worked on helping people out more. The advice he would give to underclassmen is, “Don’t let others bring you down.”
Dawson plans on going to Minnesota to farm. If he doesn’t end up working there full time, he plans on attending college.
