Jessa Pearson is the daughter of Erin Pearson and Zane Pearson. She has three siblings: Hayden, Westyn, and a half-sister Karisa, which is something many people didn’t know about her. Jessa admires how much her family cares and supports each other no matter what. The accomplishment that Jessa is the proudest of is that she opened up and started talking to other people when she was younger and started putting herself out there and gained good friends. She has worked at Crossroads Truckstop for three years as a night cook/waitress and she also helps stock and clean.
The three things that Jessa wants to accomplish in her lifetime are to travel the world, have kids, and not be in debt. If she had one wish, she would wish for a perfect life and to be happy. Jessa admires every teacher that she has had. She says that she looks up to all of them because they all helped her in many ways. If Jessa could travel to any place in the world she says, “I would love to travel all over Europe, as much as we talked about it in History, it looks beautiful and amazing!” In 10 years, Jessa hopes to be married, have kids, and have the career she wishes for.
During school, Jessa has been involved in Oral Interp for two years. She says that it has helped her to be confident when speaking and has made her life better socially. Her favorite memory during school was having recess with her friends and maybe a little of the drama that went on. Homecoming was her favorite memory as a senior. Jessa’s favorite teacher at Colman-Egan was Mr. Deutsch. She said, “He was so real, he taught me so much about history, but also about life, and is a person I looked up to when thinking about going into education.” All of Mr. D’s History classes were her favorite because they talked about real life things that were interesting and everyone would talk and interact. Her most creative excuse that she used to get out of a homework assignment was that she left her assignment in her car, which she says didn’t work because she lives right across from the school. The most valuable lesson she has learned from a teacher is that everything matters and to take into consideration that every choice she makes affects her future.
The most challenging task as a senior has been making sure that everything is ready for when she graduates. If Jessa could do one thing differently, she would be more interested in going to the games or be more involved in activities. After she graduates, she will miss seeing all her classmates and interacting with teachers and other students. The advice that she would give to underclassmen is, “Really take your time and enjoy everything you do in school and out of school. Everything is going to go by so quickly and you’re going to miss it. So, stop and enjoy and don’t stress about the things that aren’t going to matter after you graduate.”
Jessa is going to take a year off and then she hopes to go to Southeast Tech for Counseling. Then she hopes to move to Pierre.
