Senior Spotlight- Aleigha Lange

Aleigha Lange is the daughter of Tom and Kelly Lange. She has two older sisters. One of her favorite family activities is staying up late around the fire on summer nights. Her mom is the person she admires the most because she wants the best for Aleigha. Aleigha has worked at McDonald’s for over three years, and she worked a seasonal job at Target.

If Aleigha could travel to one place in the world, she said she would go to Bora Bora, because she thinks it would be fun to stay in a place above the water on the island. Her biggest pet peeve is when people chew food with their mouth open. Her most valued possession is being healthy. If Aleigha had one wish, it would be to live life to the fullest. Three things that she would like to accomplish in her lifetime are buying a house, graduating college, and getting married. In 10 years, she sees herself working as a mental health therapist in the Sioux Falls area.

Aleigha has been involved in volleyball and FCCLA for four years, choir for three years, and band for one and a half years. Volleyball has been her favorite extracurricular activity because it taught her many lessons and kept her busy. Her favorite memory of senior year and the accomplishment that she is the proudest of is making it to state volleyball. Her favorite memory throughout her school career was getting red rover banned at one of their class trips to the movie theater. Ms. Dockter was one of her favorite teachers, Aleigha felt like she could talk to her about things she couldn’t talk to other teachers about. Her favorite class was Independent Art. She said she could do whatever project she wanted to do and at her own pace. One of her most valuable lessons from school was to learn from your mistakes.

The most challenging task as a senior has been filling out scholarships. If Aleigha could do one thing differently in high school, she would worry less about the small things. After she graduates, she will miss the environment of this town. She says, “Everyone knows each other, and it won’t be like that in Sioux Falls for me.” The advice she gives to underclassmen is to use your time wisely, senior year will go by fast!

Aleigha will be attending USF to major in Psychology.
