Senior Spotlight- Brandon Pimental Grijalva

Brandon Pimental Grijalva is the son of Francisca & Andy Miles. He has two older siblings and one younger sibling. He assumes that many of us did not know he is the middle child of a family of four! Playing board games is one of Brandon’s favorite things to do with his family. Something that he admires most about his family is how much they support him. His brother is the person he admires the most because of the way he carries himself. Brandon’s most valued possessions are the memories he has of his father and the lessons he gave him.

In his free time, Brandon likes to play video games, basketball, and lift. His favorite food is Mexican, and his least favorite food is chicken soup. His pet peeves are when people are not respectful and loyal. He says that those two things are the most important to him. Brandon says that he has a bad habit of overthinking the simplest things. Brandon has worked at T&R for a year now where he repairs 3 phase transformers. In 10 years he sees himself being financially stable, living in his dream home. The three things he wants to accomplish in his lifetime are finishing his project car, giving his mom a house, and getting back to the gym.

During school, Brandon has been involved in FFA, Basketball, Football, and Hawk Way. He enjoyed lifting weights because it took a lot of discipline and not giving up. Brandon’s favorite senior memory was playing hacky sack with the guys during SRP. Another great memory he has from all his years at school was meeting different people from the number of times he transferred schools. Mr. Deutsch was his favorite teacher because he made history fun and he thought he was one of the most honest people you could have a heart to heart with. Mr. Deutch’s class was also Brandon’s favorite because he always had the most interesting stories. Throughout school, Brandon has learned that hard work pays off.

If Brandon could do one thing differently in his high school career, he says he would have put more thought into dual credits. After Brandon graduates, he will miss the ups and downs throughout high school. He says his most challenging task as a senior was Pre Calculus. The advice he would give to underclassmen is “hakuna matata, don’t worry so much, take it easy, and one step at a time!”

Brandon’s future plans are going to Southeast Tech or Lake Area Tech for automotive. He then wants to travel the world and see what’s out there and maybe live somewhere out of state.
