Senior Spotlight- Brandon Thacker

Brandon Thacker is the son of Chris and Starla Thacker. He has three siblings; Angela, Sarah, and Philip. His favorite family activity is family game nights. The person that Brandon admires the most is Evan Fong. He says that he is talented in every aspect of life and seems to not be let down by anything. An accomplishment that he is most proud of is getting the Teamwork Award at work. In his free time he likes to work on projects for his friends and himself.

Brandon’s most valued possession is a specific Minecraft world that he has. He says that he has spent nearly a decade working on it and he is very proud of it. He says that it is a time killer, it destresses him, and it is a place he can hang out with friends. He has worked at County Fair for over a year. He works in the following departments; aisle, stocker, bagger, cashier, and produce. In his lifetime he would like to become a manager at County Fair, work at my dream job, and visit all of his friends. In 10 years he doesn’t see himself living around here, but he sees himself living his best life.

During school, Brandon has been involved in One Act and Spring Play for four years and Choir for one year. Spring play was his favorite extra-curricular activity because there was no competition. His favorite teacher was Mrs. Herbert. He says she will do anything for her students, she is so nice, patient, and positive. His favorite memory of senior year was playing board games in the resource room with other students. The most valuable lesson he learned during school comes from a poster hanging on Mrs. Herbert’s wall that says “Never in the history of the calming down has someone calmed down by being told to calm down.” His favorite class was art and he said that he never had creative excuses for getting out of a homework assignment, he said they were all true.

After Brandon graduates, he will miss the resource room. He says that the most challenging task as a senior was caring about people's drama. His advice for underclassmen is, “No llama wants your drama.” If he could do one thing differently in high school he said he would have focused on math and science a little more.

Brandon plans on working at his job a few more years and in the future he wants to go to college for a business degree.
