Senior Spotlight- Travis Ustanko

Travis Ustanko is the son of Michael and the late Marsha Ustanko. He has one brother Alex. Something he admires about his family is that they do things more old school, and they stick together. His girlfriend is who he admires the most. He says, “She has helped me through so much and is my motivation when I am lost. She has helped me find myself and make me the person I am today. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her.” The accomplishment Travis is the proudest of is overcoming every challenge he has faced.

In 10 years Travis sees himself being married and having a successful career. His work computer is his most valued possession, because it has a lot of information that he needs on it. The one place he would like to travel to someday is Dubai. He says, “The city is full of so many wealthy and successful people, it would be a good place to learn and grow.” If Travis had one wish it would be to be married, have a family, and not have to work the rest of his life. The three things that he wants to accomplish in his lifetime are get married, travel the world, and start a business.

During school Travis has been involved in FFA and FCCLA for one year, football, basketball, and track for two years, and band and choir for four years. He enjoyed football the most because it taught him to never give up and to do his best no matter what. Mr. Williamson is Travis’ favorite teacher because he always believed in him and pushed him to be the best he can be. Travis says Mr. Wiliamson shaped him into who he is today. PE was his favorite class because he loves being active. His favorite school memory was going on the band trip to Nashville. His favorite senior memory was the solo and ensemble contest for band. The most valuable lesson Travis has learned from a teacher or coach is to try your best no matter what you do.

The most challenging task as a senior for Travis was being a good example and role model for everyone. After graduation, he is going to miss his friends and the people he met along the way. The one thing he would do differently in his high school career is not focus on being popular and trying so hard to impress people. The advice he would give to underclassman is to not focus on all the drama, and don’t try to impress people. He says you should be confident and be yourself, and that alone will take you a long way.

After graduation, Travis will be joining the workforce.
